Lasallian Distinguished Service Award
S Kavi Rajan ( LE402 )
S Kavi Rajan is a motivated and committed individual . He never fails to encourage his classmates and leads by example . He is also known for his ability to motivate and encourage others and is especially skilled at mobilizing his peers to express themselves effectively concerning matters of special interest to their age group .
His form tutors , Ms Rita Roop and Ms Tan Kah Choon have this to say of him , “ Kavi believes in the goodness of people and strives to maintain a harmonious relationship with those in contact with him . Over the past two years , he has displayed a commendable tenacity and resilience of spirit and has always shown a genuine interest to improve himself . His sense of responsibility , care for others and willingness to help others has certainly earned him the respect of his peers .”
Mr Chong Chow Wee , his Prefectorial Board mentor , notes , “ Kavi is a steadfast young man who possesses one of the strongest moral compasses I have ever seen . He never compromises on his values and is absolutely firm in his convictions in the discharge of his Prefectorial Board duties . However , what truly sets Kavi apart is his ability to balance the strength in his convictions , with his compassion for his fellow men . He is firm , but fair ; resolute , but not stubborn . Consequently , he is a Prefect who has sincerely won the respect of both his peers and the community .”
Ms Wong Kah Yan , Teacher Mentor of the Student Council adds , “ Having known Kavi from the time he was a playful Year 2 student in FN202 who could never settle down seriously for lessons , to the outstanding member of the Prefectorial Exco on stage today , I must say he has earned his stripes . Other than being remembered as the prefect who will run after you for your EZ-Link card when you are late , Kavi , together with the rest of the Board , has served the student population diligently in so many ways .”
His Biology teacher , Ms Kassandra Lim comments “ Kavi ’ s unassuming and personable nature enables him to interact easily with his peers . Honest and trustworthy , he knows what is expected of him and is willing to take responsibility for his own actions . He is also reflective and an example of one who is always trying to improve his academic work . An inquisitive and astute student , he made intelligent contributions in class
especially during class discussions . He is always optimistic and enthusiastic during lessons .”
Kavi was a dedicated and committed member of his Co-Curricular Activity ( CCA ), Football . Mr Mohamad Syaifudin , teacher-in-charge of Football , was impressed by Kavi ’ s involvement during his International Experience trip where he led and collaborated with his peers to engage and interact with less privileged students in a school for orphans . Mr Syaifudin notes , “ Kavi definitely models the way for other Josephians . His thirst to serve the school has made him an excellent role model to his peers and juniors .”
Kavi definitely embodies all the qualities of an exemplary student who is held in high regard for his service to others and is one who dedicates his time and energy to help others without ever seeking the spotlight for himself . He is a worthy recipient of the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award .
