Heartstrings The Heartstrings Concert 2019 was held on 25 May in benefit of SPD and Beautiful Mind Charity . After months of hard work , it raised more than $ 7000 , thanks to the generosity of many who have supported our cause .
Passing on the passion - Mr Fernando and the GarageBand
This year , we saw an impressive array of student performers and professional artistes such as musical legend Mr Robert Fernando , soprano soloist Ms Lauren Yeo and Asia ’ s Got Talent semi-finalist Syah Riszuan . Their vocal prowess is proof that age does not limit what one can achieve .
SJI ’ s very own student performers included music band GarageBand , vocals-and-violins collaboration Voila !, Secondary school band , Paradize , Chamber Ensemble , a flute and piano duo as well as a solo dancer . Mrs Vivian Tan , Director of Learning ( IBAM ) & Head ( Arts ) at SJI , who was our special guest performer for the event , surprised the audience with her soprano vocals .
