In 2019 , the Beacon CAS organised a range of creativity and service activities both long-term and ad-hoc for members to participate in , providing students with opportunities to give back to society . As a CAS , Beacon acts as a bridge to connect students to various organisations .

Beacon has organised a long-term initiative with Riding for the Disabled Association ( RDA ), allowing students to better the lives of disabled children by assisting them in their weekly equine-assisted therapy sessions , serving as side walkers and horse leaders . They interact and teach the disabled children , as well as care for the horses . We also conduct termly bake sales , where students form groups of four to prepare baked goods and sell them at school , which is a fun and meaningful activity for students to display their zest in selling cookies as well as raise funds to give back to the community !
Our members also care for neglected cats at Love Kuching . Students volunteer to help out at the organisation weekly to nurse the street cats back to health and to clean the cattery .
Ulu Pandan Shoe Handout
In March , our members participated in the Ulu Pandan Shoe Handout activity to provide shoes for the underprivileged in the community . Students also volunteered for the event Earth Hour 2019 , where they were part of the logistics team .
Several members also took part in “ OSIM Sundown ”, an overnight marathon activity , a campaign to reduce plastic waste in Singapore . In August Beacon collaborated with C3 Ace , and many of our members participated in the WAYs carnival to serve the youth in our community , working as volunteers to help run the carnival .
These various activities reflect BEACON ’ s core values , which are compassion , care and charity . Helping at various organisations also displays Beacon ’ s flexibility and passion to serve as a CAS .
