The Ultimate Frisbee team represented SJI in the annual Inter- JC tournament . After months of extensive preparation and intense training , the team entered the two-day tournament . Despite suffering an early loss against ACJC ( A ), the team persisted through the group stage , coasting to some easy wins over RV ( B ) and RJ ( B ). The first day of the tournament ended in an intense , emotional battle against HCI ( A ), where the two teams battled for a spot in the top eight . Although HCI ( A ) came away with an early lead , the team continued to persist with unwavering support from the sidelines and began to make a comeback , closing the lead and just falling short of breaking even . The team continued to push on through the second day , securing a win over YIJC ( A ) and conceding a loss to NUS High before ending the tournament with a win over DHS ( A ) to clinch the 11th place .
The team also participated in a number of external tournaments , namely , YFC Project Orenda 2018 where we made a quarterfinal finish , YFC Project Sugar 2018 which featured a SJI v SJI thriller , SMU ’ s Grab Huck Score Institutional Category 2018 where we faced teams from other JCs , Polytechnics and Universities , Gen2x ’ s GUTS Women ’ s category 2019 where we placed 7th and Julia Liaw ( TG614 ) walked away with the MVP award , as well as YFC Project Sugar U18 category 2019 where our two teams once again met , this time coming away with the 3rd and 4th placing .
