Throughout the course of the year , the SJI Women ’ s Football team (‘ Woccer ’) participated in a multitude of activities including friendly matches with other schools and a 7-a-side tournament in preparation for the ‘ A ’ Division Women ’ s Football tournament ( National School Games 2019 ). Their involvement in friendly matches with other schools , such as Hwa Chong Institution , brought them some wins and some losses . However , regardless of the results , the matches only served to push the girls to train harder . Additionally , the 7-a-side tournament gave them an insight into how other teams played , which benefitted the students in terms of planning pre-match strategies .
Despite being a relatively new CAS , they still decided to compete in the 2019 ‘ A ’ Division Women ’ s Football tournament against more experienced and established teams from other junior colleges , such as Victoria Junior College and Raffles Institution . The girls pushed on through gruelling sessions of training and set high goals for themselves whilst balancing it alongside their studies . Their hard work at training finally paid off as they scored their first three goals during the tournament .
