CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
The Drama Club participated in the 2019 Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation where they performed “ Wartorn ” which was adapted from a local writer ’ s work . The boys worked very hard and achieved a Certificate of Accomplishment in the presentation . They then presented “ Wartorn ” again , for staff members , parents and fellow students at the Mutien Fest this year . In order to be realistically prepared for their roles , our wonderful instructor Ms Claire even organised extra workshops for the boys so that they are better able to understand the inner workings of stagecraft .
The students also commemorated Total Defence Day by putting up a short performance that illustrated the significance of the five pillars of defence that safeguards Singapore as a nation and participated in the Arts Alive ! Showcase for this year .

In May , the students also took up the challenge where the Year 1 and Year 3 Drama students staged an interactive drama performance to raise awareness of environmental concerns at the Open Little Eyes Conference organised by Singapore Chinese Girls School . The students were able to guide the Primary school students and they found it especially beneficial in honing their dramatic techniques in forum theatre .
SJI Drama club also collaborated with the IB / IP academy to commemorate Singalit where the boys performed an excerpt chosen from a local production ( Minorities ). The boys added some comedy to the representation of the characters who were mostly minorities in a Singapore setting .
