CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
The SJI Pipe Band is one of the few bagpipe bands in Singapore . Formed in 2002 as just a bagpipe section of the Military Band , the drum corp was eventually established in 2006 , which subsequently allowed the band become a full-fledged cocurricular activity in 2010 . Having competed in both local and overseas competitions in Malaysia , Indonesia and Australia , the SJI Pipe Band has grown from strength to strength .
Despite the brief existence of the band , it has consistently produced remarkable achievements at both national and international competitions . The SJI Pipe Band has undeniably built a credible reputation for itself throughout Southeast Asia over these years .
In June this year , the band once again performed well in the Southeast Asia Pipe Band Championships held in Singapore and attained the 3rd place in the Juvenile Band in the entire region , triumphing over both local and foreign bands . It is worth highlighting that this was only possible by months of consistent practice sessions scheduled before the competition .
