CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
SJIMB started the year with an engaging performance at Arts Alive , an event to introduce and showcase the various Performing Arts groups to the Year 1s . This was followed by a band exchange with Singapore Chinese Girls School , Edgefield Secondary , Springfield Secondary , Commonwealth Secondary , and Northland Secondary in March . The bandsmen had an enriching time , learning from various schools through the musical exchange . April saw the bandsmen lending their support to the Uniformed Groups in their Annual Parade .
Amidst all the regular activities , the bandsmen practiced hard for the Singapore Youth Festival ( SYF ) Arts Presentation where they proudly clinched a Distinction Award . One of the events the Lower Secondary Boys look forward to is the Junior Band Concert , which showcases the Year 1 and 2 bandsmen . It is also significant because it marks the official promotion of the Year 1 Recruits and their official entry into the main band , after a year of hard work and training under Mrs Chua , the Year 1 instructor . The parents and guests sang praises of the quality performance put up by the Lower Secondary bandsmen considering the short span of time they had to prepare for it .

As the year came to a close , the bandsmen served the community through Project Scubillion , where they spent a few sessions interacting with the elderly at Ren Ci Community Hospital .
