Kyuzo Mifune , one of the greatest exponents of Judo , once said “ A chance to try your technique is in one instant never to be regained . So try it without hesitation .” For our SJI Judokas , the Annual Judo Championships was an opportunity to be gained . The ‘ C ’ Division Judokas were able to seize an overall 4th placing with their collective effort . They were Ng Yong Kai ( Gold ), Alston Cheng ( Silver ) and Shaun Tey ( Bronze ). Despite being part of the CCA for just slightly more than a year , these year 2s had trained immensely hard , never hesitating to learn from the seniors .
In the ‘ B ’ Division Championships , Lucius Yeo ( Gold ) and Damien Lai ( Silver ) helped SJI attained the 3rd overall placing . To Lucius , Damien and our graduating Year 4 judokas , this competition was their final opportunity “ to grab ” a title , “ to enter ” new destinies and “ to throw ” away past regrets . It was also their last chance to try ( their ) technique in one instant never to be regained .

For the Year 3s , it was now their time to take control of the mats , to lead the team and to give their “ ippon ( 100 )” percent .
