CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
This year , both our ‘ B ’ and ‘ C ’ Division Badminton boys did us proud at the South Zone Inter-School Badminton Championships . The ups and downs in this season ultimately helped us to grow and move forward as a team .
Our ‘ B ’ Division boys fought hard against worthy opponents such as St . Gabriel ’ s Secondary School . In this particularly memorable set , 4 of the 5 games were rubber sets , pushing both sides to mental and physical fatigue . The players of both schools fought tooth and nail , playing beyond stipulated game timing , even as the other schools were packing up . The match lasted the longest and after all the hard fought matches , we came home with a 5-0 victory .
Our ‘ C ’ Division vice-captain Jayden was able to put up an exhilarating match for both players and audience when he went neck-to-neck against a Raffles NIS player , bringing the game to a very close rubber set . Our C Division also defeated ACS ( Barker Road ) in the fight for Zonal 3rd with a fabulous score of 4-1 after facing a defeat of that exact score at last year ’ s Zonal fight for 3rd . Our captain Princern kick-started the battle with a hard-fought win against their first single whom earlier defeated another Rafflesian NIS player . Eventually , the team managed to clinch the bronze trophy for SJI .
Year 4 Badminton Team
Despite not having been able to go as far as we would have wished , this year ’ s training and tournaments have helped the team grow and learn how to work together so that we can strive to do better next year . Ora et Labora - let us train hard , fight hard , and have faith in God .
