CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
Gymnastics is associated with the expression of motor skills and body movements . Not only does it teach balance and coordination , it is also an excellent way for establishing strength , flexibility and fitness . In SJI , dedication to the sport is displayed by our gymnasts , who attend regular training three times a week despite a busy schedule . The regular training has proven to be beneficial to their physical growth as they soldiered on towards the national competitions .
Trampoline The ‘ B ’ and ‘ C ’ divisions of the SJI Gymnastics Trampoline team competed in the National Inter-School Gymnastics Trampoline Championships on 21 March . Through the diligent training of our gymnasts , and the indispensable advice and encouragement received from our teachers , our ‘ B ’ Division ultimately clinched an overall Team 3rd place in the competition , showcasing a dauntless effort against powerhouses such as Hwa Chong Institution and Whitley Secondary School .

Artistic Members of our Artistic Gymnastics team also competed in the National Inter-School Gymnastics Artistic Championship on 13 April . Due to limited participation from each school , only individual awards were given out . Being a small yet formidable team , David Wong and Jibreel Althinin exemplified grit and determination against reputable opponents from Singapore Sports School and Hwa Chong Institution . Valiantly , they overcame all odds to emerge as individual medallists in various events .

• Rings - 1st place
• Parallel Bars - 1st place
• All Around - 1st place
David Wong excelled in the following events :
• Vault - 2nd place
• Floor - 3rd place
• Rings - 3rd place
• Horizontal Bar - 3rd place
• Parallel Bars - 4th place
• All Around - 3rd place Both Jibreel and David took part in the 2018 ASEAN School Games in Malaysia and the 2018 Asian Championships in Jakarta , Indonesia .
