CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
Raffles Business Symposium The Raffles Business Symposium ( RBS ) encourages interested future entrepreneurs to be creative with their business plans . The theme of this year ’ s symposium was environmental sustainability .
Jonathan Su Yuntao ( TG503 ), Jacen Rumaja Treasa Hutagaol ( TG515 ), Ryan Ashraf Bin Jefree ( TG515 ), Yee Dong Ying Megan ( TG515 ) and Nathan Law Kai Kiat ( TG501 ) of Team Strati proposed the Recycle & GO !, a reverse vending machine that takes in empty plastic or metal cans in exchange for e-cash or voucher rewards .
Team Sonavu , consisting of Bui Quang Huy ( TG511 ), Nguyen Duy Anh Quan ( TG514 ), Xu Hao Yang ( TG503 ), Anthony Vincentius Danyo ( TG512 ) and Fang Xuanning ( TG507 ) came up with Sonargy . This revolutionary product converts sound energy into electricity through the use of piezoelectric technology .
Team Red Blood Cell , consisting of Jonte Lee Jun Le ( TG502 ), Darren Wee Wen Hon ( TG514 ), Finian Saw Yi Wei ( TG519 ), Bernessa Ang Yi Chyn ( TG516 ) and Sebastian Chan Wai Kei ( TG509 ), came up with a business plan called Rekindle . It proposes that items collected in a recycling bin be upcycled into new products .
The SJI teams clinched 2nd ( Team Strati ), 3rd ( Sonavu ) and 4th ( Red Blood Cell ) places at the RBS . More importantly , the participants gained valuable insights from well-established entrepreneurs through this competition .

RBS Participants
Junior Achievement ( JA ) competition The Junior Achievement ( JA ) is an annual international competition which generates business ideas that contribute to social welfare . It allows participants to simulate a company with actual funds and shareholders . 14 PRISM members participated in the JA competition since June 2018 .

Team Fezb came up with an original product of DIY candles and is now in the process of prototyping and marketing it , with the guidance of dedicated mentors . The product will be ready for sale in school and possibly beyond the school by year end . At the start of 2019 , the team will wrap up the sales , liquidate the company and present their business ideas and process of production and sales to the judges .
Youth Innovation On 21 April , 4 PRISM members participated in the Youth Innovation Challenge , a competition organised by Singapore Management University ( SMU ) Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship , to promote entrepreneurship among youths . The theme of the competition this year was Smart Cities .

Chew Ann Kim Raphael ( TG602 ), Johanna Lim Ziyun ( TG604 ), Teo Hock Hon Bernard ( TG614 ) and Lim Jia Ying ( TG617 ) formed Team Avance with the idea of the Tri-Bin , a smart bin that was able to identify what the user was recycling issue reward points through an application , which could then be traded for incentives . As a result of their efforts , PRISM won the Best Innovation Award ( Business ), one of the six top awards presented at the competition .
