A field day for testing our portrait skills
Youth for Causes ( YFC ) PRISM sent 4 teams to participate in Citi-YMCA Youth-For-Causes 2018 , a social entrepreneurship competition in which participants execute projects to raise awareness and funds for a Social Service Organisation of their choice . From May to August 2018 , the four teams implemented their planned projects , working closely with representatives from the respective Voluntary Welfare Organisation ( VWO ). Team Pen-n Inc , led by Kamal Ashraf B Kamil Jumat ( TG512 ), sold customizable grow-kits , badges and team-designed bookmarks in aid of Nature Society Singapore . Team Common Good , led by Dale Everett Ng Ren Jie ( TG505 ), composed and recorded a song entitled “ Human ”, in support of CARE Singapore . Team Âme , led by Devvrat Atul Desai ( TG503 ), carried out the sale of merchandise featuring designs made by the children of Singapore Children ’ s Society . Team Hawak Kamay , led by Caleon Paul William Santos ( TG508 ), conducted street sales to raise funds for Very Special Arts .

Guitar Ensemble
Heartstrings Concert Heartstrings 2018 concert was held on 26 May in SJI . The proceeds from the concert went directly to two charity organisations - including Beautiful Mind Charity and SPD . The PRISM concert committee started on the project months before the concert . The concert involved SJI students from all levels , as well as from award-winning soprano soloist , Ms Lauren Yeo and one of Singapore ’ s most respected and sought-after vocalists , Mr Robert Fernando . Our Principal , Father Danker also gave a surprise solo performance this year . On top of that , the concert also featured SPD Youth Aspiration Award winner , Mr Samuel Lim Hong Xiang and numerous performers from the Beautiful Mind Music Academy , who gave their all despite their difficulties . All tickets were sold out prior to the concert date and the concert was a resounding success , with the support from the audience , staff and students from SJI .
