2018 was the second year SJI sent an ‘ A ’ Division team to participate in the ‘ A ’ Division Football Championships . We have done our school proud this year , by advancing past the round-robin group stages and clinching a spot in the top six in Singapore . We were guided through the tournament by Coach Michael Adams . Despite being given only a few months to work with the team , he trained and prepared the boys to achieve 2nd place in the group stages , only behind the soon-to-be champions , VJC . The boys fought hard and played their hearts out in the second round , where they faced the likes of ACSI , MI and four-time champions MJC . We just missed out on the top four placing after a fantastic and challenging battle against MJC . However , the boys earned the honour and respect of both their schoolmates and opponents because of their incredible perseverance and determination . None of our achievements would have been possible without the support of our coach , teachers and supporters . We have since started preparing for the 2019 ‘ A ’ Division Football Championships and our aim is to compete for the title .
