Dragonboat is not only an ultimate team sport which puts emphasis on teamwork and effort , but also serves as an ultimate testament to a team ’ s physical and mental strength . The quote from our coach , “ Tough times don ’ t last , tough men do ” is symbolic of the mentality that pushed the team through strenuous trainings leading up to the 2018 A-division competition . Of course , not forgetting the banterous laughter and words of encouragement from our teammates .
We are not only a competitive sports team . Every Saturday , different members of our team join the Pink Spartans , a group of cancer survivors , in their pursuit of a healthy lifestyle . Adopting their positive attitude towards life helped us greatly in our Dragonboat journey as well as in our own lives .
