CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
Even as the Indian Cultural Society comes to the end of another successful year , the platform for exposure to the Tamil language and its culture never ends . Ever since this club was started by a fellow Josephian , every year has been yet another fruitful year for the Society , bringing pride to SJI from its achievements at the Tamil Literary Competitions . However , it is not about winning prizes but opportunities to develop our society into the epitome of Indian Culture .
Over the course of this year , our members have clinched multiple awards . Sivakumar Shananth ( ML301 ) and Umashankar Suhas ( ML301 ) participated in Sangamam , an event organised by the Victoria-Cedar alliance , winning 1st prize in the Word for Word competition . Our drama team consisting of Vishal Theerthagiri ( MN302 ), Kaviyarasan Kirubakaran ( FN303 ), Mayazhagu Pradeep ( FN301 ), Ramesh Babu Rohan Babu ( LE302 ) and Velu Mithilesh ( FN202 ) placed 2nd in the Impromptu Drama Competition at the same event .
At the Tamil Literary Competitions organised by Raffles Institution , Velu Mithilesh ( FN202 ) won the 2nd place . For the Essay Writing Competition at the same event Sanfo Bimal Thomas ( ML301 ) won 1st place and Murugesan Lokesh ( ML402 ) won 2nd place . Guru Anand Anish ( FN203 ), Vivek Pramod ( FN203 ), Ajai Karthik Balasubramanian ( LE203 ) and Surya Subramanian ( LE203 ) also won 1st place in the drama competition . Not only do our members have the opportunity to showcase their talents , they have also gained confidence to perform well at exams and in the real world . Throughout the year , our society ’ s members have nurtured and developed their proficiency and knowledge of the Indian tradition , becoming exemplary ambassadors of the Indian Culture .

Lastly , all these achievements and gains were only possible through the guidance from our Teacher-in-charge , old boys who came to train the students and the grace of God .
