CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
The Chinese Cultural Society is a second CCA centered around preserving the Chinese Cultural identity of Josephians .
This year , members participated in a Chinese Drums workshop and a Wei Qi Workshop promoting the appreciation of Chinese culture in an interesting and interactive way .
At the Chinese drums workshop conducted from March to April , members learnt basic drumming techniques and also composed a short melody under guidance of instructor Ms Ong Ying Ying .
From July to August , members attended a Weiqi workshop . Weiqi is a strategic board game which embodies ancient Chinese philosophy and cultural profoundness . Members learnt flexible strategies of Weiqi from instructor Mr . Alex Wam Kai Hiang .
We hope to broaden our members ’ perspectives and develop their hidden talents through this year ’ s Chinese Cultural workshops .
