CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ( CCA ) & CREATIVITY ACTIVITY AND SERVICE ( CAS )
In 2018 , the SJI Guitar Ensemble channelled its focus into preparing for the prestigious Trinity College London Guitar Ensemble Examinations . Our efforts were rewarded with certificates of Distinction for both the Junior and Senior Guitar Ensembles . The Ensemble is once again proud to maintain its standard in our performances and pieces .
Our members also participated in the yearly Project Scubilion , where we put up performances and activities for seniors at BANDA Senior Activity Centre , during which the ensemble members played and conversed with the elders . We look forward to bringing joy to the elders next year .
Among the many performances we had this year was the Year 3 Ensemble members ’ performance for Heartstrings , a concert that aimed to promote Beautiful Minds Charity and Society for the Physically Disabled . There was also a joint collaboration between the scholars of both the SJI Guitar Ensemble and Vocal Ensemble in celebration of Teacher ’ s Day as well as the SJI Open House performance where members demonstrated their musical prowess to the public . We took part in SJI ’ s Arts Alive event where we welcomed our new Year 1 members with a performance showing what the Ensemble was about .
Trinity College London Certifications
Aside from our performances , we organised other activities to strengthen our unity as an Ensemble , namely , our Guitar Day Camp and attending the Protego Maxima concert by the Xposé Guitar Ensemble . Both these activities brought us closer as an Ensemble and spurred us to seek continuous improvement . This year has been a busy one for the Ensemble and we will continue to hone our skills and work towards an even better SJI Guitar Ensemble .
