KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
* 8th consecutive UOPA Gold Award * Campcraft Competition 2018 with our teams attaining 27th and
33rd respectively . * 2 of our Secondary 4 Cadet Leaders were awarded the SPF-NPCC Award by HTA . It is the highest and most prestigious award a cadet can receive .
The SJI NPCC unit has come to the close of another fruitful year , ending it off with the achievement of our 8th consecutive UOPA Gold award , which still is our longest running record in the 48 years since the founding of our CCA .
Over the course of the year , our unit grew in our knowledge of the skills required to excel in NPCC . We participated in the annual Campcraft and . 22 Marksman Shooting competitions . We put in our utmost efforts for both competitions and through vigorous and grueling training sessions 3 days a week , not forgetting the constant support from our Teacher Officers , our unit came in 27th and 33rd placing respectively for Team 1 and Team 2 respectively in the Campcraft competition among other giants in Singapore . Another event that our unit took part in was the Adventure and Survival Training Camps ( A / STC ) organized by the HQ during the June holidays . The Year 2 cadets were trained them in their skills and knowledge while the Year 3 cadets were trained in leadership skills . Subsequently , they also went on their annual International Education trip to Cambodia in June which proved to be quite an eye-opener for them . Such trainings sharpened our craft and allowed us to contribute to the society .
This year also saw the SJI NPCC unit take on the organisational role for all the units within Area 15 . Through organising the Area Games Day held at St Margaret ’ s Secondary School , Inter-Unit Games at Raffles Girls School and the Unit Training Camp Campfire at SJI , this had allowed our units and other units grow in strength and skills . We had the opportunity to learn from the good practices of others and this in turn , helped to hone our leadership skills . During such sessions , we also forged deeper friendship with our counterparts . Indeed , we learnt that ‘ it is in giving that we receive ’. Such experiences have enriched our lives deeply and in more ways than we could have imagined .
