The Hush Trooper CAS conducted sessions on basic sign language , including the American Sign Language alphabet , basic words , pronouns as well as questions . Through specialized meditation techniques designed to empty the mind , we gained a deeper understanding of ourselves and helped us to be more focused at meetings . Leadership skills were developed among the rest of the members by encouraging them to facilitate different parts of each session . We also had the opportunity to interact with the deaf community by volunteering with HUSH Tea Bar , when they held a leadership workshop at Zhong Hua Secondary School . Using techniques learnt , we taught leaders from the school , as well as shared our experiences from the earlier HUSH sessions . We were able to conduct a visit to Hush Teabar , and spread an awareness of issues that the deaf community face . We hoped to spread the need for mindfulness to the community through a volunteering stint . This included participating in a learning camp for ITE students at YMCA .
