The ‘ C ’ Division players won the Plate event in the National Schools Squash Championship . However , squash is not only a CCA that focuses on building the physical skills of students , but also strong friendships and bonds with each other as well as with Coach Gan Ai Gee who has been with SJI for 20 years . SJI Squash is extremely supportive of students ’ initiatives and tries to create the best experience for them in Squash . The Squash camp in March initiated by Year 3 Vice-Captain Theodore Tang and Captain Timothy Tay and facilitated by the Year 3 players allowed the Year 1 players to build rapport with the Year Two and Three players . The players now have a special connection . We continue to foster a closely-knitted Squash community in SJI .
We also extend our help as a CCA to communities overseas through our yearly overseas trip . Our trip in November 2017 to BPK Penabur , Bandung , Indonesia , gave our students a first-hand experience of teaching English and Science to about 30 students over two days .
