Sec 4 Paraliturgy and Farewell

30 SEPTEMBER 2016

The Secondary 4 Paraliturgy and Farewell Ceremony on 30 September was a solemn moment of reflection for the graduation cohort who were invited to ponder upon their experiences throughout their four years in SJI .

For many of the Secondary 4s , the ceremony was an opportunity to not only revive the memories of the past four years but also to show their appreciation to their classmates and subject tutors who have journeyed with them . Beginning with the opening invocation , ' We are here in the presence of our God ,' and a prayer , Brother Kelvin Tan FSC , prepared the students for a time of introspection . Listening to a speech by Nipun Mehta on the Miserable and Magical times narrated by different teachers , the students reflected on their experiences in SJI while being reminded to continuously “ give , receive and dance .”
As part of the tradition , the graduands were given a cohort badge unique to the 2016 batch and were tasked with penning down their unique SJI stories on stars which were strung across the hall . The entire cohort then reaffirmed their togetherness as a community in a rousing rendition of ' We are Friends .' The ceremony concluded with a whole school assembly where the entire secondary school body bade farewell to their seniors .
