A major accomplishment was engraved in the legacy of the SJI Drama Club this year , as we had yet again clinched the Distinction Award in the prestigious Singapore Youth Festival competition ! Our winning piece was an adaptation of William Golding ’ s “ Lord of The Flies ”. As an additional honour , the SJI Drama Club was given the opportunity to showcase the award-winning play to the school community as well as to the public ! It was a roaring success with high acclaim from the audience , making our efforts all the more worthwhile .

In celebration of Singapore ’ s Golden Jubilee , the Club also hosted a major festival , “ Strawberry Generation ”, which featured original pieces written and directed by our club members , including adaptations based on plays like “ Survivor Singapore ”.
The Drama Club had been honoured with the Brother Joseph McNally Award for Creativity , as a recognition of Drama Club ’ s innovation and achievements in the past year . It was indeed a great honour to receive this prestigious award !
