In 2014 , the SJI NCC Air Unit had to overcome many problems that had arisen due to our move to Bishan campus . An example of this was the fact that all the Uniformed groups ( UGs ) had to share an underground communal area , which we termed the Bunker . The bunker had to be locked during non-training hours and UG teachers were responsible for ensuring that the heavy metal door did not trap any cadets inside . Fortunately , we had the help of an additional teacher , Mr Chong Kai Qin , who joined the unit at the beginning of the year and ensured that most regulations and processes were carried out without a hitch . We also celebrated our 13th consecutive Gold Award in the Best Unit Competition 2013 .
Developing the Passion for Aviation One of NCC Headquarters ( HQ ) initiatives this year was to provide a more comprehensive Aeromodelling programme for students . In addition to the Silver Wing and the Gold Wing , HQ introduced the Bronze Wing for Junior Cadets and Platinum Wing for selected Cadet Leaders . As a result , the Specialist Course was shortened to 1 day and Gold Wing course , 2 days .
