The Legion of Mary is one of the four Catholic societies that are offered in SJI to provide students with the opportunities to be part of the Catholic faith community . The Legion of Mary is further grouped into four praesidia : Our Lady of Good Counsel , Queen of All Saints , Seat of Wisdom and Ark of the Covenant . The group meet once a week to pray the rosary together , report on how they have lived a Christian life and bear witness to the Faith and to reflect on the Gospel .
To support the Catholic environment in school for the year 2014 , the legionaries organized and led daily Morning Prayer , Wednesday mass and other masses for Inaugural , Founder ’ s Day and Teachers ’ Day . In addition , the boys also organized activities such as the Lasallian Catholic camp held during the first weekend of the March holidays to promote fellowship and the annual pilgrimage to the Carmelite Monastery in July . During the holidays , the legionaries rendered service at St . Theresa ’ s home where they helped out with the chores by feeding the elderly and interacting with them . During the Feast of the Annunciation , SJI held the annual achies where the members of the junior praesida from all over Singapore gathered together to fellowship and to renew their consecration to Mary .
The boys sat in the crowded chapel at the Carmelite monastery for mass during the feast day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on 16 July .
