National Junior Robotics Competition ( NJRC ) Spanning from 2 – 14 Sep , the theme for this competition was entitled “ Celebrating Science ”. Our boys were required to research on a topic of their choice , set up a booth for the entrepreneur category and finally to pit their robots against others in the robot competition .
In preparation for this competition , team building games were carried out for each training session and we found that the boys bonded better and worked well in their teams .

The Notus Vincere did us proud by clinching the 3rd prize in the Best Robot Performance for NJRC . They were experienced and strategized their moves carefully so that they could persevere till the end . During the booth manning session , James Shutler from ML 302 even went all the way out to usher people into the Annexe to buy their specialty – Truffles ! After the competition , they were also invited to Jakarta to take part in the World Robot Olympiad held from 15th to 17th November .
4 . Secondary 4 Farewell In the midst of training for NJRC , we also had a farewell session for our Secondary 4 boys . Our trainers Mr Chin and Mr Leong were also involved in this farewell session .

The Mecha Tornadoes ( boys from FN 103 ) won the award for the best mascot with the support from their parents . The sales of their milkshakes were one of the highlights of the event too as there were no other booths selling milkshakes .

All in all , this has been a fruitful year for SJI and we look forward to help more boys to learn robotics in a challenging environment next year as we move to the new campus !
