LEARNING JOURNEY
WORLD AND ME
World and Me Symposium 2013 – Security And Me The year concluded with the first World and Me Symposium on the issue of Security . In a fast-changing globalised world plagued by new types of threats , the notion of security has become much more complex . Ambassador Barry Desker , Dean of the S . Rajaratnam School of International Studies was the keynote speaker at this year ’ s Symposium . Ambassador Desker introduced our students to the emerging concept of nontraditional security which takes a broader and more holistic view of security . Besides Mr Desker , speakers from various government agencies , as well as commercial and nongovernmental organisations addressed the question of non-traditional security from the perspective of their own area of expertise .
