2012 was indeed a thoroughly delightful and memorable year for the audiences who turned up for our performances , and it saw the return of an old friend , our sorely missed Drama Nite . This yearʼs Drama Nite showcased not one but two very different plays . These local productions , “ All The Worldʼs A Stage ” by Wong Liang Wei and “ Still Building ” by Harish Sharma seem worlds apart at first glance . However beyond that one will find that not all is as it seems , and even events miles and years apart are perhaps not so distant after all , touching our hearts in all too familiar ways . This production was the fruit of the Drama Clubʼs labour , and indeed every detail was lovingly crafted with the hearts and souls of our members . showed strong spirit and resilience to pull through testing times . Our efforts paid off and we amazed our audience with our efficiency of movement and creative use of traditional theatrical elements .
And of course this year was the pioneering year for our very first Drama showcase , in which we presented a variety of classic and contemporary pieces to an audience consisting of close friends and family of the Drama Club . Some of the pieces we performed were “ The Apple ” by Jimmy Brunelle , “ Necessity ” by Daniel Saunders , “ The Fruits of War ” by Earl T . Roske , “ The Dragon ’ s Lair ” by Christopher Cyr and the well-loved classic “ Monty Python ”. One of the showcase pieces , “ A Lighthearted Journey to Hell ” was a piece written and developed by our alumni Lau Tze Hin .
