VIVIAN DALZELL AND HER LATE HUSBAND COLIN HAVE HAD A LONG RELATIONSHIP WITH JOSEPH BRANT HOSPITAL , HAVING MOVED TO BURLINGTON IN 1961 JUST AS THE HOSPITAL WAS BEING COMPLETED . AND HAVING RECEIVED GREAT CARE A NUMBER OF TIMES OVER THE YEARS , SHE UNDERSTANDS THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT .
“ There is only one Hospital in Burlington , and I have great faith in it ,” she said . “ They have good people working for them , and I ’ ve always been very happy with the care .”
Vivian and Colin made their first gift to the Foundation in 1989 , and have continued to make annual gifts since that time .
In 2006 , Vivian had both her hips replaced and spent five weeks at Joseph Brant Hospital . Shortly after returning home , she contacted the Foundation to honour the excellent care she received . In recognition , Vivian and Colin made a legacy gift , including Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation in their estate plans .
“ Watching the Hospital grow , and seeing the plans for the future , I feel good about helping . I recommend it to anyone ,” she said .
