Our Achievements Throughout the year, our teams are committed to enhancing the safe and quality care provided to our patients each and every day. We strive to enrich the care experience of the people who we serve. Some highlights of our achievements from the last year: Joseph Brant Hospital received Accreditation with Exemplary Standing, received the highest possible designation for an accredited organization, awarded following an evaluation of more than 3127 standards based on quality, safety and efficiency. Accreditation Canada provided an overwhelmingly positive report to the hospital, highlighting the organization’s commitment to quality improvement, patient centered care and teamwork. They were impressed with the enthusiasm and energy seen during visits to departments and units across Joseph Brant Hospital and noted the tremendous work we have done since our last Accreditation survey four years ago. 22 Joseph Brant Hospital The hospital has seen a significant and sustained improvement in our Emergency Department, having been recognized by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care as the most improved medium volume hospital in the province, with an 11.5 per cent improvement while experiencing a 5.8 per cent increase in patient volumes. This improvement can be attributed by the committed focus of our physicians, leaders and front line staff on improving the flow of patients through the hospital. We improved our structured Visiting Hours to a new patient-centred model focused on the family presence. It provides family and partners-in-care flexibility in visiting around the clock, 24 hours a day.
