DON MILANI
BY GIORGIA, FEDERICA, MARTA
“Lettera ad una professoressa”, was written by eight guys of Barbiana school in 1967 with Don Milani. The letter speaks about the school selection of the poorest students, predestinated to leave the school and to find a work. The school is boring and the work is easy to find. The failures during the elementary school make the age of the class older and the failures during the middle school make the age of the class junger. There was a division of the rejected guys during the first and the second class of the middle school. The guys said: “There’s no happy ending when the teachers make equal guys unequal”.
The guys who passed make good homework but the rejected staying bad. The education sociologists study the gap to be overcome about the contemporany Italian school and they found five problems:
1: The gender problems: the differences of the school performance about boys and girls ( the girls are better at school except in the scientific subjects ).
2: The tecnologic problems represent the necessity to have new tecnologies to keep the guys at school.
3: The ethnic problems show that foreign students are more rejected than the Italian students .
4: The socio-cultural problems show that the guys who have problems with the family choose a professional school.
5: The direct problems show that the guys who attend the high school have 61 “Pisa” statistics than the professional school students.
