Blue Jay Update Student Spotlight Becker to attend the Wisconsin Leadership Seminar Johnson Creek High School is proud to announce that Adam Becker, 10th grade, will represent the school at the Wisconsin Leadership Seminar this summer. Adam dedicates time and energy to both academics and athletics. He has played the saxophone in the school band since 5th grade. Also, Adam earned high honor roll status each semester of high school. In addition to academics, Adam is on The football, wrestling, andhad the Senior Spanish students baseball teams. Freshman and Sophomore years Adam the opportunity to use their Spanish wrestled at the state tournament. Adam has been wrestling sincethe Christmas while volunteering at KinderNeighbor’s event at the Jefferson garten and his dedication is certainly seen on the wrestling mat. Garsky Named Badger Boys State Rep I am very proud of them, and I hope they continue to find opportunities to Junior Hunter Garsky was nominated to represent the use Spanish outside the classroom. district for this year’s Badger Boys State. Junior --Ms. Hill Noah Stevenson was selected as the alternate delegate. Congratulations to Hunter Garsky who will represent Johnson Creek High School at Badger Boys State this summer. His delegation to Badger Boys State is sponsored by the Johnson Creek American Legion Post #305. Hunter is a confident student with outstanding verbal skills. He enjoys science and math classes. He plans to attend college and major in an engineering field. Hunter loves baseball. He is a determined athlete who strives to lead his team to state this year. Hunter is happiest when he is at baseball practice. In addition, Hunter plays football and wrestles on the high school varsity teams and he participates in FBLA and Skills USA. Overall Hunter demonstrates quiet leadership skills while inspiring others to do their best. Purpi Named Badger Girls State Rep Junior Caitlin Purpi was selected as representative for Badger Girls State, with Taylor Emrath selected as the alternate candidate. Congratulations to Caitlin Purpi who will represent Johnson Creek High School at Badger Girls State this summer. Her delegation to Badger Girls State is sponsored by the Johnson Creek American Legion Auxiliary. Caitlin is a gifted student. She is an independent thinker with a strong sense of purpose and drive. As a junior she is taking advanced classes in math and science. Caitlin has taken a leadership role at school as president of the junior class and student council member. She loves riding horses and she is the captain of the Equestrian team. Caitlin also runs track and plays basketball. She has participated in band in 5th grand and she is an enthusiastic saxophone player. Overall, Caitlin is a strong leader who thrives on challenging herself, both academically and in athletics. MS Forensics The Johnson Creek Middle School Forensics Team concluded a successful season on Monday, Feb. 3rd. The team competed in the Level II meet at Beaver Dam on Monday and experienced a high level of success. Out of 24 scores received by team members, 75% of them were in the A range. Students can receive either an A or B rating with a + or - accordingly. Two students even received an A+ rating for their performances in the Interpretation of Prose category.
