PHDS
Ph.D. programs in disaster management are
research driven. Students engage in intensive reading and writing addressing key problems in the field.
Approximately ten programs nationwide offer PhDs
in disaster management. Georgia State University’s
takes place on campus and isn’t available online.
Oklahoma State University’s PhD in Fire Emergency
and Management is, however, though it has a brief
residency requirement. Aspiring doctoral candidates
pursue careers in academia and the federal government. u
