We spent 5 wonderful days at Sønderskov-Skolen in Søndenborg, a Danish town of about
30.000 people in the Region of Southern Denmark. They have 16 public elementary schools
and one special needs school in Søndenborg Municipality.
Sønderskov-Skolen is a UNESCO and a LEAPS school located in a suburb, about 20
minutes walking from the city centre. It’s one-storey spacious building next to a main
avenue, surrounded by fields and forests. The school hosts about 700 students and about
64 teachers. The students are from grade 0 (6 year-olds) to grade 9 (15 year-olds). There
are about 20 students per class.
