Practise
Practise rehearsing your answers with a friend before the interview. This will
help you become more confident talking about yourself when it comes to
presenting your evidence to the panel. It also gives you the opportunity to listen
to how you sound and come across to others.
You will feel calmer knowing that you have prepared for this interview, and are
already in a stronger position for doing so.
Try not to remember your answers/examples word for word as you want them
to flow and sound natural. Relying on your memory will help you achieve this.
Appearance
Pay attention to how you look, as this can give you confidence too.
Your grooming and choice of attire are part of the image you project to others.
Men should wear a suit and tie. Women should wear a blouse and a suit too.
Suits, skirt suits that are black, brown or navy blue in colour are practical choices
for an interview.

Breathing techniques
To be confident, you must feel relaxed and calm. To achieve this, focus on your
breathing technique by taking in deep, controlled breaths, just before you enter
the interview room.
Imagine yourself succeeding
Imagining yourself as a successful candidate, will help boost your confidence and
self-esteem.
Before you go into the interview room, visualise a successful interview, imagine
how you would walk into the room, shake the interviewer’s hands and answer
the questions perfectly with confidence.
This technique will help you calm any pre-interview nerves.
If you have a strong belief that you are the best person for the job, then this will
help you relax into that confidence, knowing you are!
