RobCooper.UK 2017 Body language for your interview Body language plays an important part in the interview process. You can do all the preparation, practising and role playing required for your interview, but on the day, poor body language can let you down, especially when you are trying to prove to the panel that you are the best candidate for the role. Your body language will communicate to the interview panel what type of person you are. For example, how you respond to questions, the characteristics of your behaviour shown throughout the interview process and your animated actions (hand and eye movements). Send out the right signals to the panel by controlling your conscious and subconscious body language as it will have a big impact and an influence on the interview panel, especially when they are deciding whether or not to employ you. The key to positive body language in an interview is self-awareness. Become aware of the signals you are sending out to the panel, and learn how to use your body language to your advantage. www.robcooper.uk 1
