Within the Pamlico B MOA which is operational intermittently with an
operating floor of 8,000 ft. above mean sea level (MSL).
Because of the complexity and variability when military airspace that the
airport is within and surrounded by is active, county economic growth
associated with the airport is a considerable challenge. A key goal of
attracting a fixed‐based operator – a commercial business to operate at the
airport and provide aeronautical services such as fueling, hangaring, tie‐down
and parking, aircraft rental, aircraft maintenance, flight instruction, etc. has
yet to be realized.
Plymouth Municipal Airport
Plymouth Municipal Airport is a county‐owned, public‐use airport located
two nautical miles south of the central business district of the Town of
Plymouth, in Washington County. In 2015, the airport had 13,275 aircraft
operations consisting of 83 percent general aviation, 15 percent military, and
2 percent air taxi. In 2015, there were 23 aircraft based at this airport.

Donald’s Air Park
Donald's Air Park is a full service aircraft maintenance facility, located in
Washington County, near the Town of Pantego. The airport consists of a
lighted turf runway, measuring 4,000 by 100 feet. Donald's Air Park offers a
variety of aviation services including aircraft maintenance, aircraft sales,
aircraft parts, flight training, aircraft restoration, and aircraft recovery.

Whitfield’s East Airport
Whitfield’s East Airport is a private airport located two miles south of the
unincorporated community of Fairfield in Hyde County. The airport was
recently activated in 2009.
