a large volume of noise complaints from a certain area , it could potentially impact any routes that fly over that area . Additionally , as the area around DCR develops , the risk of noise complaints increases as the number of people in the area grows .
Existing Tools As stated under Issue LAS‐1 , understanding triggers and thresholds for public tolerance and having a clear process for communicating future operational changes with the public is essential to successful public relations and enhancing community support and advocacy for the military mission at Seymour Johnson AFB .
Findings
• DCR and the surrounding airspace provide a unique low‐altitude training area not found elsewhere within proximity to Seymour Johnson AFB .
• Increases in noise complaints resulting from future development can potentially threaten the future use of MTRs .
ISSUE LAS‐4
Further introduction of the F‐35 Aircraft into the North Carolina Airspace Concern that further introduction of F‐35 Joint Strike Fighter to training in northeast North Carolina will introduce additional impacts to areas of overflight .
Compatibility Assessment While Seymour Johnson AFB is the principal Air Force user of DCR and the surrounding airspace utilizing the F‐15E , additional users of the region include the New Jersey National Guard , Naval Air Station Oceana , and Marine

As of April 2015 , MCAS Cherry Point has six F‐35 working on maintaining and refining to their spe on track to be a hub for 94 F‐35 ' s and will serve hubs for jets from other air stations . The introdu noise profile into the North Carolina airspace wil which may experience an increase in noise .
The most significant impacts associated with bas MCAS Cherry Point are anticipated to be related operation of the aircraft . Testing of the F‐35B w Force Base in September 2013 , which found tha comparable to or lower than the F / A‐18 aircraft , Naval Air Station Oceana through the JLUS Study Point . However , even though the F‐35B may no overflight noise , it may contribute to an increase worth noting that the MTRs controlled by the Na from the north through Bertie , Beaufort and Wa MTR controlled by the Marine Corps enters the south on a north‐south vector through Beaufort southwestern Bertie County .
