• Visitation to Orlando increased 5.8 percent overall last year compared
to 2013 and has grown 4.0 percent annually since 2010. Notably,
international visitation has increased 7.6 percent in that time.
Interestingly, only 22.4 percent of international visitors to Orlando in
2010 originated from Latin America; however, that share has increased
to 36.5 percent – representing the largest international feeder market
for Orlando.
• Nearly half of Latin American visitors come to Orlando from
Brazil. Although Orlando is still far off from the volume and ratio of
international visitors to domestic visitors, the trend is certainly mirroring
what is being seen in South Florida, where Latin American visitors
typically spend more and stay longer than their domestic counterparts.
• As a result, Orlando’s hotel industry is on pace for its strongest year in
history. Occupancy at mid-year 2015 was 80.1 percent, matching the
historically high occupancy seen in 1996, and
