TIM TOBIN
Born in Illinois but raised in Tucson, Tim studied Special
Education here at Pima College and the University of Arizona.
He worked for 10 years with the Catalina Foothills School
District C.A.R.E program and also worked for Amphitheater
School District in their special needs program. For the past
four summers Tim has worked at The J in Special Needs
Services (SNS) Program and enjoyed the opportunities The J’s program offered
its participants. He plans to finish his degree in Special Education at Grand
Canyon University.
In his spare timeTim enjoys shooting pool, writing, cooking, and watching
football with his brothers. He is married and his wife and he are the proud
parents of three wildly adorable cats. Tim is looking forward to this new
adventure at The J and is thankful for this opportunity to use his skills to help
strengthen the SNS program.
CELIA SIMPSON
The J welcomes Celia Simpson, the new Assistant Aquatic Director
and Swim Coach. A graduate of Boston University, Celia grew up in
Peoria, AZ. At BU she swam and studied Environmental Analysis
and Policy, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts this past May.
Celia is thrilled to combine her education and swimming
experience to teach kids pool safety and swimming skills here at The J and will
be a great asset to the new J-Rays Swim School and the expanding Aquatics
program. Celia is also excited to return to Arizona, and to experience all that
Tucson and The J has to offer! "I hope to take advantage of the beautiful
mountains, bike trails, and the J’s yoga classes,” she says.
