Page 4 Patriot Herald Reading Classes Meet the Author... Students from Mrs. Baillargeon and Mrs. DeJordy’s Period 1 Reading classes had a special day in the JFK library. After reading Never Let a Ghost Borrow Your Library Book written by our assistant librarian Karen Casale, students got to meet the author and tour the library. Our librarian Mrs. Burt helped everyone pick out their books and answered questions about library organiza- tion. A warm thank you to our wonderful library! ________________________________________________________ JFK Hosts First “Through the Lens of a Middle Schooler Parent Presentation Through a partnership with Enfield Youth Ser- vices and the Enfield To- gether Coalition, JFK Middle School hosted a night for parents to re- ceive information re- garding a host of issues facing middle school stu- dents. The topics includ- ed; Bullying, E- Cigarettes, alcohol, anxi- ety and drug use. Jean Haughey, Bonnie Smith from Enfield Youth Services, presented along with Fred Fetta who added infor- mation related to gaming and online gambling. Outside Alex’s Army came with a bedroom/home display for parents. Andrea Mashiak of Enfield Youth Services brought some members of the Youth Advisory Council to answer questions about cellphone use and gaming. Assistant Principal David Iacobucci emceed the event.
