Enfield Together Coalition would like to wish you a safe and hap-
py holiday season. We would also like to encourage you to take
some time this holiday season to talk with your children about the
dangers of underage drinking.
According to Substance Abuse and
Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), on an average
December day, more than 11,000 young people, aged 12 to 17,
will use alcohol for the first time. As parents and caregivers, it is
important to set clear boundaries, talk early and often about sub-
stance use and be familiar with Connecticut’s Social Host Law
which states you cannot provide alcohol to those under 21 other
than your child.
