We are also pleased to announce that the following music students were selected to participate in the Eastern
Regional Middle School Music Festival. This festival will feature students from all areas of the eastern region of
Connecticut and will be held at Enfield High School this year. We are very proud of these students for all of their
hard work preparing for their auditions.

Greetings from the Guidance Department!
It is a busy time of year and here in the Guidance Department is no exception. Tis
the season for report cards, conferences, and developmental guidance lessons. Soon
the guidance staff will be getting all students onto their Naviance accounts. Navi-
ance is a program that students will be using through high school to apply to colleg-
es, research careers and colleges, and keep track of their GPA and class standing. At
JFK, we use this program as an introduction to careers, goal setting, and thinking
about plans after high school. They will also be given directions on how to log into
their Naviance account from home.
Quarter 2 Progress Reports are going home with students on December 14th. Re-
port cards for Quarter 2 will be issued to the students on January 25th. As always,
please remember to check your child’s agenda book daily to make sure they are
completing their assignments. Also, a valuable tool for parent’s, PowerSchool can
assist you in keeping up with your child’s grades and can keep you in contact with
their teachers. If you would like to schedule a team meeting with your child’s team
of teachers, please contact their guidance counselors at any time.
