King David Big Walk
and Night Run
On an unusually chilly Sunday in September, King
David Sandton proudly hosted a 5km King David
Big Walk and the first ever King David Night
Run, sponsored by Discovery Health. With over
2 000 participants, including students, parents,
grandparents and staff, the KD Big Walk and Run
aimed to unite all the King David Schools in a fun
and healthy way, encouraging unity and cohesion
between the various campuses. This year, the
family walk was followed by a KD Night Run,
which was driven in the high schools by the DIJE.
Over 400 KD high school students, kitted out in
lumo bandanas, ran for a cause.

The various student committees at King David have
each chosen a charity to benefit from their KD Unity
Night Run. The run bought charity supporters
together to run for a great cause. SMACC (The
Sound, Media and Communications Committee)
nominated the Chevrah Kadisha as its beneficiary.
