HOW TO COOK BEER-CAN CHICKEN
You can play around with your beer mixture –
adding fresh herbs, garlic, lemon zest or chilli
to the half-empty can. These are just a few
guidelines, but it really is simple.
Light your fire and pour yourself a beer.
Take another can of beer and pour half
the liquid out of it, and drink it (or set aside
if you want to make a beer basting sauce).
Add a few sprigs of thyme or rosemary to
the can (you can stuff these in the cavity).
Roughly chop 3 garlic cloves and pop that in
the can too. This is what’s going to flavour
your chicken wonderfully.
Take a big chicken, about 1.5kg, and season the inside and outside with salt and
black pepper. Place the herby beer can in
