I wouldn’t miss your monthly magazine,
Jewish Life, for anything and can hardly
wait every month for its distribution.
In particular I would like to comment on your
feature article in the October 2013 issue on
Rebbetzin Marcia Tanzer’s latest book, The Call to
Africa is Heard in Brooklyn.
It was in 1963 when I was a student in form
2 at Yeshiva College in Glenhazel, when Rabbi
and Mrs Tanzer arrived in South Africa, together
with their three young children, to take up the
position of associate rosh yeshiva at Yeshiva
College. I still remember that their first home
was in the small flat that was meant for the
hostel master.
Rabbi and Mrs Tanzer were a breath of fresh air
at Yeshiva College and I am happy to say that my
student days at Yeshiva College were happy ones
and that I am always proud to tell people I was
a student there. I am looking forward to reading
Mrs Tanzer’s book to bring back memories from
all those years ago. There is nothing in your
magazine that anyone can have negative to
remark on. Keep up the excellent work you are
doing with this wonderful magazine.

Thank you for the incredible N-Factor
initiative. My kids love it and it has
provided hours of entertainment for them.
My parents overseas have even shared in the
nachas and gotten their friends and family
across the globe to vote for my daughter.
PROUD MOM
Nachas is the name of the game, so keep
watching, enjoying and voting.
We’ve had a lot of queries about
when the competition closes.
Home entries close on 31 May
and voting closes
30 June.
