Dining Reaches New Heights Business travellers will enjoy an enhanced level of dining on China Airlines thanks to a new partnership with the W Taipei. Four creative and contemporary in-flight menus, curated by W Taipei’ s Yen Chinese restaurant chefs, will be served on China Airlines’ first and business class cabins on routes from Taiwan to the United States, Japan, and China. In addition, two signature cocktails from W Taipei’ s Woobar – Doctor Goes Away, with vodka, apple liqueur, apple and lemon juice; and Fashionista, which is made with Wairau River sauvignon blanc, crème de cassis, cranberry and lemon juice – will be served onboard for the enjoyment of long-haul travellers. The menus, which were devised by Yen’ s chefs and adapted for conditions in the air, include signature dishes like duck liver mousse with hawthorn jelly; pineapple beer braised red yeast duck breast; cod fillets with Chinese olives, black beans, and arrowroot; and pork belly ribs with Worcestershire kumquat sauce. www. wtaipei. com
New SQ Haven at Incheon Singapore Airlines has opened its latest lounge at Seoul’ s Incheon International Airport, offering business travellers a chic and sophisticated space in which to relax before their flight. Part of the airline’ s S $ 20 million( US $ 16 million) commitment to upgrade lounges across the region over the next five years, the new Incheon lounge is located on level four of the Concourse Terminal building, and features a capacity of 96. The intimate lounge space boasts plenty of seating, high-speed wireless internet, a full business centre complete with desktop computers, shower suites, and a selection of hot and cold snacks. A range of soft drinks, juices, regional beers and wines from the airline’ s own list will also be available. The airline will be revamping lounges across its network with the help of design firm Ong & Ong, starting with the lounge at Sydney Airport. www. singaporeair. com
New Partnership Rewards Loyalty Qantas’ new partnership with Dubai-based airline Emirates will offer a host of new benefits to its Frequent Flyer loyalty scheme members. The partnership, which remains subject to regulatory approval, is designed to offer customers a seamless travel experience across one of the world’ s largest networks. Key benefits include mile rewards on almost any flight on both airlines, access to an extensive international network of 175 destinations, additional redemption options, and access to both airlines’ airport lounges for Gold card members.
