Walking in the early morning mist revealed Chinese palatial architecture built more than 600 years ago. There was a strong balance between the buildings and open space with a symmetrical layout. One could only feel how life was in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Here I was in the Forbidden City in Beijing, China that took more than a million workers 14 years to build when they started construction in 1406.
I had arrived in Beijing after spending one and a half weeks in the Western Provinces of China on a business trip. Beijing has a population of 19.6 million and was very Westernized. It was great to stay at the Sheraton Hotel and go across the street to the Hard Rock Cafe and eat the best burger, fries and chocolate shake that I have
