Another family vacation was a marvelous trip to Italy in December 2004. Mimi, Luke, Ryan and I flew into Rome and stayed at a renovated monastery adjacent to Vatican City. I had learned some basic conversational Italian for the trip and Luke and Ryan kept hassling me whenever I spoke in Italian. But I laughed at them when I went up to the nearby train station and asked, in Italian, for 4 tickets to the Rome Central Station to then have the tickets handed to me straight away.
