If you want to pursue a research degree but do not hold an honours degree or equivalent , this course can be your qualifying degree .
In this course , you ’ ll undertake approved research projects for a specified period under the supervision of at least two academic staff members .
Course structure
This course consists of a combination of coursework and research . In the coursework component , you ’ ll develop an advanced theoretical and / or technical knowledge in the areas of your research focus . In the research component , you ’ ll develop research methodologies appropriate to your focus and plan and execute a research project under the individual guidance of academic supervisors .
The total course comprises 48 points , including coursework ( 12 points ) and research ( 36 points ).

Edith is currently serving as deputy chief and health research officer of Ghana Health Service ’ s research and development division , where she works with multiple national and international stakeholders on a range of health issues . As a PhD student at Monash , she researched the challenges of implementing the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in Ghana .
